It all started with our father, Steve Heasley, when he opened
Butler Gymnastics Club in March of 1974.
At Butler Gymnastics, we proudly carry forward the legacy of our founder, Steve, whose dedication to gymnastics began as an athlete at Butler High School and continued at Slippery Rock University. As a four-year letterman and Team Captain, Steve earned All-American honors and was mentored by some of the sport's most respected figures. He later returned to Butler High School as a coach, leading the gymnastics teams to unparalleled success, including an incredible 54-2 record for the girls' team, which still stands as the highest winning percentage in any sport at the school. Steve also guided the teams to qualify for the WPIAL and PIAA championships twice.
Now, as we celebrate 51 years of Butler Gymnastics Club, Steve’s passion is carried on by his daughter, Michelle, who has taken the reins and continues to build on his legacy. Under her leadership, the club thrives, inspiring and shaping the next generation of gymnasts while honoring the values Steve instilled.
